The short answer

The current public sources can reconcile 24 named knight entries. One all-in-one guide says there are 25 in its introduction but still contains only 24 names; Steam's official A Knights Game achievement says to recruit all available knights without publishing a total.

You should not expect to hold every recruit at the same Round Table in one natural timeline. The table has Act-based capacity limits, and multiple regional quests contain incompatible outcomes. The practical goal is to recognize a decision point, open the focused guide, and use rewind when you want the alternative.

The columns are an alphabetical checklist, not Act placement. We do not force uncertain first-appearance timing into a table simply to make the page look complete.

Recruitment types to watch

Direct and scheduled candidates

Some knights appear through the main audience flow or at a fixed stage. You still need roster space and may have to decide whether to accept them now or leave them waiting.

Regional decision recruits

These depend on how you solve a local problem. The outcome can change the person who becomes available:

  • Gavault: recruit Brunhilda by persuading her to leave, let her remain as a local leader, or move toward Tarcus through suppression. Read Recruit Brunhilda.
  • Groveshire Beast Hunt: Angelica and taming leads to The Wolf; curse-breaking leads to Rufus; killing without Angelica leads to Silgur. Compare Rufus, The Wolf, and Silgur.
  • Kutnar: an unconventional race result can bring Zolta, followed by a 250-gold fee. Read Recruit Zolta.
  • Almor: who takes the political-prisoner task directs Dulahan toward a human body or helmet chain. Read Dulahan's transformations.

Hidden state recruits

These require a roster or task state the game may not explain directly:

  • Alwena: enter the Round Table with zero available knights, verified in Acts II/III. Read Recruit Alwena.
  • Chester: send Angelica for the first Goose task, then solve a randomized egg clue. Read Recruit Chester.
  • Dulahan: Goberto's death is required before Dulahan can visit.

Knowledge and rewind shortcuts

After learning a secret, Demon Power can expose a new response on a replay. This may shorten a chain, but it does not automatically preserve the recruit from the abandoned future. See Demon Power and rewind.

Major branch conflicts

Decision areaOutcomes to plan around
GavaultBrunhilda joining, Brunhilda staying, or the Tarcus-facing route
Groveshire Beast HuntThe Wolf, Rufus, or Silgur
Goberto's fateKeeping Goberto alive or enabling Dulahan's appearance
Kutnar raceOrdinary result or the unusual Zolta trigger
Dulahan in AlmorHuman Body or New/Cursed Helmet path

These conflicts explain why a checklist is more useful than a promise that one perfect first run will collect everybody.

Round Table capacity

Current community guides report capacity expanding by Act: 6 seats in Act I, 8 in Act II, and 10 in Act III. This is a current-version community observation, not a number published on the official store page.

Capacity affects when you can accept candidates. Some guides report that certain waiting candidates can later be invited from the Map Room. Do not generalize that rescue mechanism to every missed branch: a character who never became a candidate because you chose an incompatible outcome is a different problem.

A practical collection order

This is a safe process, not a claim about a statistically perfect build:

  1. Accept straightforward candidates while keeping one seat flexible for hidden recruits.
  2. Before Gavault, Groveshire, Kutnar, or Almor, decide which branch character you want in this timeline.
  3. Note the cycle of the decisive assignment.
  4. Verify the candidate actually enters the audience or waiting pool.
  5. Use the latest viable rewind point for the alternative, so unrelated events change as little as possible.
  6. Track the official A Knights Game goal across your play rather than trying to display all names at once.

Known information gaps

  • Steam does not state whether the final count is 24 or 25.
  • Some public guides remain works in progress.
  • Conditions reported for characters such as Oliver and Victoria are still described as unstable or incomplete by the community.
  • Waiting-candidate behavior is documented for some situations, not every missed recruit.
  • Version 1.0.8 changed quest scoring, so older numeric success recipes require new verification.

Those gaps are why this hub links only to routes with enough direct and independent evidence for a focused guide. It does not generate a thin page for every name.

Common mistakes

  • Calling 24 the official total.
  • Assuming “recruit all” means seat everyone simultaneously.
  • Filling the table before a hidden candidate audience appears.
  • Treating the Map Room as a universal recovery tool.
  • Following a regional outcome without checking its alternative recruit.
  • Using a rewind while expecting downstream recruits and deaths to remain unchanged.

Evidence limits

This hub was checked on August 11, 2026 for Sovereign Tower 1.0.8. The official sources confirm recruitment, the Round Table, rewind, and the A Knights Game achievement. The 24-name reconciliation, capacity figures, and detailed routes come from current community guides. Where those sources conflict, the conflict is displayed instead of silently choosing a number.
