The short answer
The Groveshire Beast Hunt can lead to three different recruits. Decide which result you want before assigning the task:
| Your choice | Key deployment | Recruitment result |
|---|---|---|
| Tame the beast | Send Angelica | The Wolf |
| Follow the magical traces and break the curse | Do not use Angelica for the tame result | Rufus |
| Kill the beast | Do not send Angelica | Silgur enters the recruitment chain |
Choose by the outcome you want
There is no evidence-backed universal “best” answer here. The decision changes the character you add, the story resolution you see, and what later routes are available.
Choose The Wolf if you want the tamed-beast outcome or plan to use The Wolf in the documented Zolta race route.
Choose Rufus if your target is the restored human behind the curse. This route follows the supernatural explanation instead of accepting the beast at face value.
Choose Silgur if you want the hunt to end with the beast killed and to move the hunter into the recruitment chain.
Step by step
Recruit The Wolf
- Progress the Groveshire problem to the Beast Hunt assignment.
- Select the approach that allows the beast to be tamed rather than killed or cured.
- Send Angelica. Her Animal Lover trait is the documented key to the unexpected result.
- Resolve the audience and accept The Wolf into the Round Table.
The official Good Boy achievement supports the existence of this special companion outcome. The exact Angelica deployment comes from current recruitment guides.
The Wolf has a useful later connection: a dedicated Zolta route uses him as the unconventional competitor in Kutnar. If that is your goal, continue with how to recruit Zolta.
Recruit Rufus
- Treat the creature as the product of a curse, not simply a beast to tame or destroy.
- Follow the magical traces or equivalent curse-breaking direction when it appears.
- Avoid using Angelica for the tame-animal special outcome.
- Complete the branch that restores the person behind the curse and accept Rufus.
The important distinction is the solution: Rufus comes from reversing the condition. The Wolf comes from keeping and taming the creature. Public rosters list them separately, so do not treat this as a cosmetic name change for one slot.
Recruit Silgur
- Choose the hunt's lethal resolution.
- Do not assign Angelica, whose trait can redirect the task toward The Wolf.
- Complete the “kill the beast” result.
- Follow the resulting audience chain that brings Silgur into recruitment.
Silgur is tied to the hunter-facing outcome. Simply avoiding Angelica is not enough if you then choose the curse-breaking route; that points to Rufus instead.
What rewind changes
Demon Power lets you return to an earlier cycle in the current Act with knowledge and Sovereign Archetype progress retained. It does not retroactively merge mutually exclusive results.
Use rewind to move back before the Beast Hunt commitment, then pick a different solution and assignment. Later audiences, task outcomes, and roster state can be recalculated from the new decision. The Demon Power guide separates what remains from what the timeline recomputes.
Common mistakes
- Sending Angelica while trying to get Silgur.
- Avoiding Angelica but choosing the magical route while expecting Silgur.
- Killing the beast while expecting the restored Rufus outcome.
- Assuming The Wolf and Rufus are the same roster entry in two forms.
- Expecting rewind to preserve all three recruits simultaneously after revisiting the quest.
- Choosing from unverified stat rankings instead of the story and collection result you actually want.
Evidence limits
This guide was checked against public sources for Sovereign Tower 1.0.8 on August 11, 2026. The three decision directions and Angelica's role are consistent across independent recruitment material. We do not publish exact stat comparisons because those values are not required to make this choice and have not crossed the same evidence threshold.
