The short answer
Arlin unlocks the Meals action. Before you finish assigning Round Table tasks, you can feed one knight. If the food is one of that knight's favorites, it gives +1.5 Affinity and adds +0.5 to that knight's score for the current quest.

The current table contains the 24 named knights that can be reconciled across the public lists we reviewed. That does not establish an official final knight count; see the recruitment hub's 24/25 source conflict.
Step by step
1. Unlock Meals through Arlin
The food action is not available from the opening screen. Continue the relevant Arlin progression until Meals appears as part of your Round Table preparation.
2. Choose after planning assignments
Food affects the current quest score, so decide who needs help after you know the assignments you intend to make. Use a favorite meal on the knight whose affinity or current task score benefits from the boost.
3. Feed before closing the Round Table
Use the meal before completing that Round Table's assignment phase. The bonus applies to the chosen knight and their current deployment.
4. Read the bonus as support, not a guarantee
The meal can help a borderline score and offset some affinity loss. It cannot turn the wrong story choice into a special outcome. Chester still needs the right egg clue response; Alwena still needs her availability trigger; Arron's dragon path still needs its Moonvale decisions.
Practical meal choices
For maximum flexibility: Crêpe appears on the largest number of currently verified favorite lists.
For Chester or Dulahan: either accepts all six foods in the current direct meal guide, so you can reserve scarcer pairings for another knight.
For a branch recruit: verify that the character has already joined. Feeding does not replace the recruitment step. For example, Brunhilda's Galette-Saucisse preference has no effect on whether she leaves Gavault.
What meals cannot do
- Guarantee quest success.
- Replace a required knight, item, or dialogue direction.
- Unlock a recruit whose branch has already been closed.
- Guarantee romance or a personal quest.
- Prevent every resignation or death.
- Convert +0.5 score into a published probability.
Common mistakes
- Feeding before deciding which knight will take the important quest.
- Assuming “liked food” means a permanent stat increase.
- Reading +0.5 as 50 percent.
- Using a favorite meal to compensate for a hard narrative prerequisite.
- Treating the current 24-name table as an official roster count.
- Removing accents from item names and then overlooking the matching food in the interface.
Evidence limits
The six-food mapping and bonuses were checked for Sovereign Tower 1.0.8 on August 11, 2026. The complete mapping comes from a direct illustrated Steam guide and is cross-checked by a multi-player recruitment discussion, which also indicates that food preferences are stable rather than randomized. The official store confirms affinity and knight-assignment systems but does not publish this full table.
